Last Sunday we headed to Hartford, CT to attend the 14th Annual Northeast Hunting and Fishing Show.
I must admit I was very disappointed in the show. While I did read what exhibitors would be there it meant nothing as I didn’t recognize all but three or four. There was a lot of fishing charters services and a fair amount saltwater fishing tackle. While firearms do interest me hunting does not so I basically skipped those booths. Lunker City, the fine folks behind the Slug-Go were there and had a nice display of their products. The highlight of the show was some birds of prey. There were owls and some other interesting birds. I enjoyed this the most. If anyone knows what kind of birds these are specifically I would like to know.
I guess my disappointment stems from the fact there was little freshwater related booths and there were no large tackle manufacturers represented. I was hoping folks like SHIMANAO, DAIWA, QUANTUM, RAPALA, and others would be there. I wanted to compare rods and reels, see the latest tackle.
So we left the show and did what we should have done from the start. We went 5 minutes up the road to Cabela’s
