I have been searching for better and more efficient ways to carry my fishing tackle. Traditional tackle boxes and flip side just don’t work for me at this stage in my life fishing from shore. I often find myself having to climb like a mountain goat or standing in the water on the smallest of rocks. I’m continuously dropping my tackle boxes or accidentally flipping them open while going through brush or falling down a bank head first to reach the fishing spot.
I noticed the Cabela’s XPG Pro Series Angler Pack around Christmas but I didn’t pay much attention as it was not fishing season. Well last week I decided I needed to get something NOW, So I returned to Cabela’s to give the Cabela’s XPG Pro Series Angler Pack another look. The more I looked at it the more I liked what I saw. Its a soft tackle box that is worn like a back pack. The bottom section includes four Plano 3600 sized utility boxes. There’s an eyeglass case, pliers pouch, built in rod holder as well as a plethora of pockets for storage.
The straps are adjustable and nicely padded. The area where the pack touches your body is padded as well..
Hopefully this weekend Ill get it loaded up and try it out.
Here’s Cabelas description:
Gear built for X-treme performance no matter what situation you find yourself in. Spacious top and bottom compartments hold all you need for a great day outside. A stowable, removable rod-holder system secures most rod models to the pack for convenient carry. A detachable, compression-molded pliers/tool holster fits most 2″ belts. Stormproof pocket stores valuables like your camera, cell phone or GPS – and your precious sunglasses will keep protected in their own sunglass case. Deluxe padded and articulated shoulder straps hold it all together in a comfortable fit that you’ll appreciate. Includes four 3600-size plastic utlilty boxes.
Lastly I plan on ordering one or two Cabela’s Advanced Anglers T.U.B.™ Tackle Utility Binders to stuff in the top section.
