I have decided to purchase a new spinning rod to go with my shiny new SHIMANO SUSTAIN FE 2500 reel. It’s no secret I’m very fond of the G Loomis GL2 and GL3 series rods and a safe bet would be a GL3 for this application. However I’m feeling the need to try something new and in this case new would be the ST CROIX LEGEND ELITE series of spinning rods. If there’s a downside to this option the ST CROIX cost about $100 more than the G LOOMIS. Anyhow my mind is far from made up and I may look at some other options.

In a moment of weakness and the availability of the Bass Pro Shops 6 payment plan this evening I ordered the ST CROIX LEGEND ELITE LES66MF.

The ST CROIX LEGEND ELITE LES66MF showed up yesterday. Not sure when it arrived as a neighbor found that UPS left the package in an untraveled area of my apartment building.
The rod came wrapped very well and also included a soft case for the rod. That was a nice surprise. The rod is perfect, not a blemish anywhere and the eyes are perfectly aligned.
The standout though is the weight. The rod is incredibly light, shockingly so.
Ill hopefully get the SHIMANO SUSTAIN FE 2500 mounted over the next few nights. Maybe hit the lake this weekend, weather permitting
